The BFN5 system board by Boingfire is a compact, yet powerful, platform designed for a variety of embedded applications. It features the Intel Atom E3845 processor with four cores, operating at 1.91 GHz, and includes 2 MB of L2 cache and AES-NI, TPM2.0 for enhanced security and performance. The board supports DDR3L memory at 1333MHz with a maximum capacity of 8 GB through a single 204-pin SODIMM socket.

For display outputs, it offers an HDMI port supporting resolutions up to 2560×1600 at 60 Hz, catering to high-definition content. Networking is robust with up to three RJ45 Ethernet ports powered by the Intel I211 Gigabit controller, ensuring fast and reliable data transmission.

Storage options are versatile, including one full-size mSATA slot, an eMMC slot supporting eMMC modules, and a SATAII interface for additional storage expansion. The board’s internal I/O includes three serial ports, HDMI, reset and power buttons, four USB ports (three USB2.0 and one USB3.0), and 24-bit GPIOs for a wide range of connectivity and expansion possibilities.
